SOW promotes global music,
arts, culture, entertainment, sensual lifestyles and
features the creative souls behind the creations!

Hi! I’m Angelique Shofar, Executive and Creative Director of SOW Public Relations.

My bottom line: I love people and I love promoting creativity!

180pxlucky_dube_2 My life as a promoter and producer began as a child when I would naturally enjoy raving and ranting about the talents and gifts of the creative spirits that moved me.  A crafter of words and movement began to emerge when I was press secretary for my school’s student union and leader and spokesperson for a dance group. I was sought after not just by the media and general public, but by friends and admirers alike. A social butterfly I was known as.

My passion for global music, the arts, entertainment, culture, poetry, literature and a sensual lifestyle began at a young age.Ritamarley_4 My role as Executive Producer and Host of Africa Meets Africa on Pacifica Radio WPFW 89.3 FM; host of African Music Video Box, produced out of New York and aired on cable stations across the nation; and my freelance writing voyages brought many meetings and interviews with internationally renowned and talented local  artists and groups. And my love for beauty and aesthetics took me down a road of creative sensual exploration.

From music legends Lucky Dube, Burning Spear, Rita Marley, Sunny Ade, Hugh Masekela, Freddie McGregor; to female shakers such as Haiti’s Emeline Michel, Cameroon’s Kaissa and US artist to Benin - Diane Cameron; local oldies like Brother Ah and Englishman; up and rising male vocalists such as Emerson, Kuku, Armand Ntep and Luko Adjaffi; diverse groups such as Soulfege and a host of others.

My literary collage includes: Charlene Hunter- Gault, Malidoma & Sobunfu Some, Marie Elena John, Maureen Stone, Angela Peabody, Sharon Caulder, Vesta Sithole, and poets Omekongo Dibinga, Ikunga, Laini Mataka and many more.

My love for travel and culture has taken me to a few exotic spots in the Caribbean Islands, Central America, Europe and Continental USA where I met some of the most wonderful people and explored some of the most enchanting places. Some of those relationships have continued and the magic, wonders  and secrets of those places I enjoy sharing while encouraging others to indulge their senses and spice up  their lives!

Hughsmll_2 I am a creative magnet! I draw and attract  beauty and aesthetic in its human and abstract forms, and I appreciate creativity and talents of a wide variety. I love organizing and hosting events with an artistic and cultural flair that stimulate, enlighten and empower.

Many musicians and artists and I are kindred spirits as I seem to draw them in my circle. They seek my promotional skills and services as well as my camaraderie. Listening to them wholeheartedly, I try to do what I can to honor their creative needs.  I am grateful for their spirits and their faith in mine.  It's a joy and blessing to bring you their stories and creations...... for they are the expressions of my spirit and the voice of my soul!

Within this site you’ll find the artists, talents and places that I currently promote; I will gradually archive postings of my past works: print and audio interviews of events, retreats and gatherings I have organized and hosted as well as other exciting occasions and moments as they materialize!

To engage my services: pr/marketing, writing, editing, events & retreat planning, new media training  send me an email me at: sowpublicrelations@gmail.com or call me on my skype line at 301-637-6739.  I am waiting to hear from you!

Bamboo2     The moment you step off the plane you instantly feel the cool sexy vibes of Jamaica. The seduction begins with the tropical aroma and the melodic voices that resonates through your body. The exotic and erotic journey of the senses continue with the ride to Negril as the warm tropical sea breeze caresses your face; while the sights of the harvest of exotic fruits such as sugar apples, mangoes, and sugar cane along the road side will wet your tastebuds. Meanwhile, the lingering caribbean beat will please your ears and kindle your soul. The passing view of the sea is a hint of the wetness you'll feel as the sunny, luscious island of Jamaica penetrates you. As you walk through the gates of the Negril Yoga Centre you will hear a soothing and mysterious whisper that says .....Welcome home! There your playful inner child can be free and your soul can be restful.
